 Work Experience

• Joined I.A.S. 1972, U.P. Cadre. Held various assignment under the State Government including D.M., Jalaun, Commissioner, Kanpur Division and Principal Secretary of Education, Social Welfare and Urban Development Departments, was also Chairman of U.P. State Textile Corporation as well as U.P. State Sugar Corporation. 

• Has worked as the Secretary to the newly formed Lok Ayukta (Anti Corruption Organization) in U.P. from 1978-82. Later also worked as Secretary, Vigilance Department from 1988-1991.

• Worked as Director General of U.P. Academy of Administration and State Institute of Rural Development for two years (July, 2000 to June, 2002). In this capacity I was designated by the Ministry of Rural Development, government of India as the Chairman of a Task Force for finalizing National Action Plan for effective training of Rural Development functionaries..

• Was on deputation to Government of India as Joint Secretary, Department of Personnel and Training from 1991 to 1997, in charge to Training Division which is responsible for the induction and in-service training of  I.A.S. Officers. Hold the Position of Chief Secretary, Govt. of U.P. also for a certain period. During this period I was involved in the formulation and implementation of the National Training Policy which was evolved for the first time in the country..
