Role Of Central Government


The Regional Centre for Urban and Environmental Studies (RCUES) is supported by the Government of India in the Ministry of Urban Development. The RCUES receives regular Non plan Grant -in-aid besides financial assistance for planned academic activities from the Union Ministry of Urban Development. The Government of India in Planning Commission, Ministries of Environment and Forests, Women and Child Development, Urban Employment and Poverty Alleviation occasionally extends the financial assistance for undertaking academic programmes.

Role Of Constituent State Governments

The State Government of Uttar Pradesh, provides regular financial and infrastructural support to the RCUES. The Government of Madhya Pradesh gave financial support for constructing two deluxe suites in trainees hostel and had been granting some token grant. The other constituent state governments viz. Bihar, Orissa, Chattisgarh, Jharkhand, Uttaranchal and Sikkim also extend financial help occasionally.
Role Of Lucknow University
The University of Lucknow being the parent organization provides administrative and academic supports. The Vice-Chancellor of Lucknow University is the Chairman of the Governing Council of RCUES which is the highest policy decision making body.
