Achievements

The RCUES has been regularly undertaking academic activities in various aspects of urban
government, namely, urban planning and development, urban finances, urban services,
management of urban poverty alleviation programmes and management of urban environment,
etc., since its inception in the constituent states. It has, however, diversified its activities
in the above fields recently.

Some of the major achievements of RCUES have been:

  • Appointed Hub Institution under Rapid Training Programme on Module-III (Project Planning
    & Implementation) under JNNURM Ministry of Urban Development Govt of India.

  • Designated as National Resource Centre for Training and Name w:st="on"> Capacity Building Capacity Building
    under Poverty Alleviation  by Ministry of Housing & Urban Poverty Alleviation Govt.

  • Worked as State Resource Centre for JNNURM for U.P.

  • State Resource Centre for Training & Capacity Development under JNNURM & UIDSSMT for
    Madhya Pradesh.

  • International Training Programme on Planning and Management of Urban Development for
    African, Latin American & Asian Countries.

  • Nodal implementing agency for the UNDP sponsored project on Capacity Development for
    Urban Governance in U.P. & Uttaranchal.

  • Designated as the State Training Institute for the State of w:st="on"> U.P. for training UBSP
    functionaries.(sponsored by UNICEF)

  • Nodal agency for training under UNICEF sponsored UBS programme for Bihar & U.P.

  • Responsible for training and monitoring of Indore Habitat Improvement Project under
    ODA(now known as DFID) project aided by the Government of U.K.

  • Collaborated with the State Urban Development Agency (SUDA) to launch the UBSP
    programme in U.P.

  • Conducted orientation & other specialized Training programmes for Officials of Govt./
    ULB & Community Based Organizations.
      • Training of Trainers.
      • Community Development.
      • Roles & responsibilities of CBOs.
      • Participatory Planning.
      • Entrepreneurship Development Programme
      • Training on Thrift & Credit Societies.
      • Trainings for Balwari workers, Health workers, RCVs etc.
  • Supported Ministry of Urban Development, Govt. of India after the launch of JNNURM
    by conducting State Level Workshops     on JNNURM.
  • Capacity Workshops at National & State Levels for sensitizing officials engaged
    in urban development.

      Urban  poor  etc. for JNNURM  & UIDSSMT towns.

  • Worked as Nodal Agency for Solid Waste Management in U.P.                          
    • Prepared 7 DPRs for JNNURM towns and 23 DPRs for UIDSSMT towns.
    • Prepared 7 DPRs for Slaughter House Waste Management.

  • Implementing Demonstration Project for SWM at Rampur.

  • Implemented Demonstration project for Slaughter House Waste Management
    at Rampur.

  • Established Disaster Management Cell in the Centre.

    Capacity Building   for Decentralized Urban Governance in U.P.

  • Coordinating Agency for implementation of Double Entry Accounting System in 
    all the 628 Urban Local Bodies of U.P.

  • Coordinating Agency for development of GIS and Computerization of 18 ULB's of U.P.

  • Implemented Report Card System & Prepared Report Cards for all the 51 
    Class - I towns of U.P.

  • Implementing Capacity Development for Urban Governance Programme.

  • Prepared Urban Development Policy.

  • Training Programmes for Women Councilors.

  • Established Computer Training Cell.
